Fitness First

The Fitness First Ltd. With more than 1.4 million members and over 500 clubs one of the world 's largest operators of gyms. The company was founded in 1992 in Bournemouth, operates in Europe, Asia and Australia, and changed its name in Germany by the end of 2008 under the name Fitness Company in Belgium under the name "Passage". Company History

The first gym under the name Mike Balfour Fitness First opened in the South West of England in 1993. According to the expansion in the UK market and the IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 1998 you entered the German market. 2000 followed the entry into Australia and Asia. Opened in 2001 to clubs in France, Holland and Italy. 2003 bought by private equity firm Cinven Fitness First for € 600 million and took the company private. 2005 sold this Fitness First at BC Partners for the sum of € 1.2 billion. Germany
