Flaçà

Flaçà is a municipality in the district areas of Catalonia Gironès, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain.

Geography

The place Flaçà is located on the highway C-66 between Girona and the Costa Brava. North of the center of the small river Ter.

History

For the first time the place is mentioned in a document called " Flocià " in 921.

Economy

Due to the river nearby agriculture in Flaçà is profitable. In addition, the paper industry has settled in the place.

Traffic

The train station of Flaçà is an important stopover the fast train Barcelona - Portbou. The express train takes about an hour and 40 minutes to Barcelona. After the Girona train takes 12 minutes. There are also bus connections to Girona and the Costa Brava.
