Flamengo is a place on the island of Faial, Azores, Portugal.

The municipality is located above the main city and port of Horta, it is one of its district as Freguesia. The name of the place goes back to Flemish settlers who had settled here in the 15th century.

In the 20th century it was repeatedly hit by severe earthquakes: 1926 by more than half of the building was destroyed. More earthquakes with significant damage there was on 23 November 1973, on 9 June 1998.

In blue two golden lilies under a golden faceless sun. In the sign two narrow silver waves. About the shield a silver three-towered mural crown. In the white band at the sign foot of the place name in black letters " Flamengo - HORTA ".
