Flunk

Flunk is a band from Norway, from the field of electronic music. Flunk rely especially on quieter sounds and can be in their direction rather associate the downbeat.

Band History

The band began its formal establishment as a small project between Nygaard and Bakke in Oslo in 2000 and 2001. Occurring in the first phase as an instrumental band with sampled vocals, they were in the winter of 2001 from the label Beat Service Records hired on a compilation for a track. Upon completion of this track they were hired by the label manager Vidar Hanssen for a full album.

In spring 2002, the band gave itself the name Flunk and published under that name their first single, a cover of New Order's Blue Monday. The song was relatively successful and appeared on numerous compilations in the USA and in Europe. In April 2002, their debut album For Sleepyheads Only was released and earned great reviews in Norway. With the success of this album, they were invited by the BBC to the radio show The Blue Room on Radio 1.

In the summer of 2002, several British magazines were attentive to electronic music on the band, which led to further success. In July there was the first tour where Flunk also occurred on some rock festivals. While the success of the debut album in 2003 still not subsided and started sales in Russia and Greece, Flunk continued to work on their second album, Morning Star. It was completed in March 2004 and published in May first in Norway, from June throughout Europe. Nearly a year later, was soon followed by the third album, Play America.

2007, the next album was released. In May 2009 the album This Is What You Get is published, which includes a cover of Karma Police by Radiohead. In April 2013 published Flunk the latest album " Lost Causes ".
