FlyNordic

Norwegian.se ( previously independently as FlyNordic ) was a Swedish low cost airline based in Stockholm and most recently a brand of Norwegian Air Shuttle, which operates as norwegian.com.

History

The airline was founded as Reguljair 1996 and started operations with an Embraer EMB 110 regional objectives. The Swedish Aviation Authority revoked the airline on 14 November 2000 their license. With the new name Nordic East, dba Flynordic.com was started on 1 December 2000 again the flight operations.

In November 2003 Finnair acquired a stake of 85 % in the airline. The remaining 15% is assumed in May 2004. Finnair built it with the new name FlyNordic from a low-cost airline for the Nordic market. The type aircraft McDonnell Douglas MD -80 were formerly part of the fleet of Finnair and have been leased by the latter. At the same time we founded the subsidiary Nordic Airlink. However, Finnair announced in 2005 the bankruptcy of the airline, but the flight operation was maintained with the subsidiary Nordic Airlink. At this time, the company had approximately 240 employees.

On April 24, 2007 Norwegian Air Shuttle announced that it had taken FlyNordic completely. On March 14, 2007 Norwegian Air Shuttle decided that you FlyNordic no longer results as an independent company, but also integrates the 5th of April, 2008 and the parent company can norwegian.se fly under the brand. This meant the definitive end of FlyNordic as a company with its own flight operations. The norwegian.se brand is temporarily no longer used in favor of the uniform norwegian.com.

Norwegian.se served last for Norwegian Air Shuttle Sweden from various destinations within Europe.

As of September 2009, the fleet of the aircraft consisted of three norwegian.se:

  • 2 McDonnell Douglas MD -82
  • 1 McDonnell Douglas MD -83

As of September 2010, no aircraft were registered more on society.
