Football at the 1979 Pan American Games

For the eighth time in 1979 football tournament were carried out at Pan-American Games. It was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico held between the 2nd and July 14th. Nine nations took part. After two preliminary rounds to the best qualified for the knockout stage.

All matches were played at the Estadio Country Club.
