Description

The Forollhogna is the Trondheimsfeltet region, which is dominated by rocks of the Silurian, and is part of the Scandinavian Mountains. The mountain itself consists of phyllite and mica schist. In principle, this limestone soil is ideal for lush vegetation, due to the climatic conditions to grow on the mountain top but only mosses, lichens and some alpine plants. At lower altitudes, a pasture landscape forms.

The saddle height of the mountain is 639 m - 700 m. The dominance to the next highest mountain, the Hummelfjell, is 37.25 km. To the east of the mountain on nearly 1,000 moh. is the Forollsjøen. The main reason for the name was Forollhogna Forollhogna National Park, and is also due to its distinctive summit shape visible from afar.
