Forrest Griffin

Forrest Griffin ( born July 1, 1979 in Columbus, Ohio) is an American mixed martial arts fighter. He denied until July 2012 26 fights, of which he won 19 and lost seven.

Griffin graduated from high school in Evansville from, a suburb of Augusta in the U.S. state of Georgia. He then attended the University of Georgia, reaching a degree in political science. During this time he also spent time working as a police officer for the Sheriff's Office Richmond County. He gave this job to but to fully pursue a career as a professional martial artist.

Griffin fought for different operators, before taking part in 2005 at the first season of The Ultimate Fighter and there won the light- heavyweight final against Stephan Bonnar. Since then he has played all his fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. For the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter, he was hired as coach. On 5 July 2008, he was after a victory over Quinton Jackson UFC Light- Heavyweight champion, but lost this title in December 2008 to Rashad Evans. Griffin trained at Xtreme Couture Mixed Martial Arts.
