Fort Defiance (Navajo: Tséhootsooí ) is a census -designated place in Apache County in the U.S. state of Arizona. He is on the Defiance Plateau at an altitude of 2084 m.

Fort Defiance was founded in 1851 to provide a military presence in Navajo County. At that time, the city still belonged to the U.S. state of New Mexico.
