The Forth Road Bridge is a motorway bridge over the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh in Scotland. The suspension bridge was built in 1958-1964 and was the largest bridge of its kind in Europe. It is over 2.5 kilometers long and spans the estuary between the towns of North Queensferry and South Queensferry. The bridge consists of a total of almost 47,000 tons of steel, it included almost 50,000 kilometers of cables along the structure.
