Fosfluconazole is an antifungal agent from the group of triazoles and an ester of the antifungal fluconazole also active with phosphoric acid. It inhibits ergosterol biosynthesis.
Pharmacology
Fosfluconazole inhibits 14α -demethylase, a fungal specific cytochrome P450 isoenzyme ( CYP51A1 ), which is responsible for the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. Ergosterolvorstufen be incorporated into the membrane and the permeability of cell components increases.
