Fountains of Wayne is the first album by the American band of the same name, published in 1996 by day / Atlantic Records. The songs were indeed written over the years, but recorded in just three days.

The lyrics are mostly funny, but occasionally one can come across serious plays like Sick Day, which is about the routine of everyday life of a young woman.

The first two singles, Radiation Vibe and Sink to the Bottom, the videos were shot, to see the American (and sometimes even in German ) music television were the desired marketing effect did not materialize and in the U.S., only 125,000 of the album were sold.

The title Karpet King, which is only included on the Japanese version of the album can be found on the single Radiation Vibe and published in 2005 B-side collection of out-of -state plates. He is also part of 1997 appeared sampler Too Much Scratchie Makes You Itch.
