Four Year Strong

Four Year Strong is an American pop punk band from Worcester, Massachusetts.

History

The band was founded in 2001 at a high school in Worcester, the O'Connor, Day and Massucco visited together. Initially, the band consists of only three members, which record their first demo tape together in 2002. Later Joe White joins as bassist. With this lineup the band recorded in 2003 on the EP The Glory.

2005 Four Year Strong take their debut album It's Our Time out. Her style is at the time still rougher and more oriented towards the melodic hardcore. 2006 increases Josh Lyford as a solid keyboard player and completes the cast. With this solid cast they take 2007 their second album Rise or Die Trying on. The style has become clear through the melodic keyboards often used.

2008 Change of Four Year Strong I Surrender Records to Decaydance Records, the label of the Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. About this label, the band released their 2009 cover album Explains it All which is based on pop-punk covers of 1990s rock hits, such as of Nirvana and Everclear.

On 21 December 2009 the single It Must Really Suck To Be Four Year Strong Right Now, which is also included on the fourth studio album, which is titled Enemy of the World and was released on March 9, appeared. The name of the single is derived from a CD review of the band Set Your Goals from where the author has their album This Will Be the Death of Us well rated, and ironically said that he was not in the shoes of Four Year Strong wanted. They also released a single for the song On A Saturday, however, that the title Tonight We Feel Alive ( On A Saturday ) carries on the single.

Style and influences

Four Year Strong play modern pop-punk, like Lifetime or New Found Glory, which is supported by keyboards. However, there are also many elements of hardcore punk and metalcore in their music. For example, fast double bass playing and breakdowns are often integrated into their songs. In addition, clear, high vocals often alternates with growls or shouts.

Also on concerts, there are dance elements of hardcore punk and metalcore, such as mosh pits, circle pits or operate the fans headbanging.
