Lifetime (band)

Lifetime is an American, influential melodic hardcore band from New Jersey.

Band History

The band was founded in 1990 by Ari Katz and Dan Yemin, which both come from the New-Jersey-/New-York-Hardcore-Szene. First there was in frequently changing cast. In contrast to the then aggressive and violent tone of the New York scene Katz formulated positive personal topics in his lyrics. In 1992, with the debut album of the Background group.

Until 1995, had evolved by addition of Pete Martin, David and Scott Golley Palaitis a solid cast. With them, the second album was recorded, which was published the same year by Jade Tree Records. With Hello Bastards is a significant development for Melodic Hardcore showed. With the cover song It's Not Funny Anymore, originally performed by Hüsker Dü, a clear reference to the musical influences on the album was included.

1996, a compilation of their singles and previously unreleased songs was published. A year later, the third work of the band appeared. Jersey 's Best Dancers includes 12 songs in less than 24 minutes of playing time. After a short tour, the group dissolved, however. While Yemin became a member of Kid Dynamite and Paint It Black, founded Palaitis and Katz Zero Zero.

In August 2005 there were three reunion concerts for charity in Philadelphia and New Jersey. The proceeds benefited various charities. On 17 November, the band gave announced that she has finally reunited. In March 2006, Lifetime signed a recording contract with Decaydance Records.
