Francesca Gregorini

Francesca Gregorini ( born August 7, 1968 in Rome as the Countess Francesca McKnight Donatella Romana Gregorini di Savignano di Romagna) is an Italian- American director, screenwriter and film producer. In addition, she also worked as a singer and songwriter.

Life and career

Francesca Gregorini was born in 1968 as the daughter of actress Barbara Bach and Augusto Gregorini in Rome. She is the elder sister of Gianni Gregorini, who is president of its U.S. production company, Pisces Rising Productions. Thanks to their excellent language skills, she is fluent in Italian and English, Gregorini attended Brown University in the United States, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the U.S., located in Providence, the capital of the U.S. state of Rhode Iceland. There she studied drama and semiotics.

Gregorini began her career in the early 2000s, first as a singer and songwriter, she contributed two songs on the soundtrack of the movie See Jane Run in 2001, where she played a small guest role. In addition, she also worked as a singer and musician (guitar and bass). In 2003, she released the album sequel before they then moved into the film business and began working as a screenwriter. She wrote the pilot episode of Motel Novella she developed with Joe and Anthony Russo for HBO. Francesca Gregorini staged in 2009 as director, writer and producer with the drama The girls of Tanner Hall, in the main roles were played by Rooney Mara, Georgia King, Brie Larson her first feature film. 2009 celebrated the film at the Toronto International Film Festival premiered.

2013 staged Gregorini the thriller The Truth About Emanuel in the cast Kaya Scodelario, Jessica Biel and Alfred Molina. At the Sundance Film Festival, she was honored with a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize in the Dramatic category. In addition, the movie 2013, at the LA Femme Film Festival for Best Feature Director category was nominated.

Francesca Gregorini is the stepdaughter of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and the niece of Marjorie Bach and Joe Walsh. In addition, she is the half-sister of the two drummer Jason Starkey and Zak Starkey, and the make-up artist Lee Starkey.
