Francesco Vezzoli

Francesco Vezzoli ( b. 1971 in Brescia ) is an Italian conceptual artist and filmmaker ( "Multimedia Popartkünstler " ), which operates from Milan.

1992 to 1995 he studied at London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

In his first works from 1994 to 1996, he produced works of Mark Rothko and Josef Albers claimed as embroidery. Later he returned to this technique, as tears were embroidered on images of women in one of his trademarks.

In 2005, he was shooting for the Biennale di Venezia in the short film produced by Quentin Tarantino Trailer for a Remake of Gore Vidal 's Caligula with performers like Courtney Love, Helen Mirren, Milla Jovovich and Benicio del Toro.

At the next Biennale 2007 Italian Pavilion his video demo Crazy with Sharon Stone and the philosopher Bernard -Henri Levy was shown. In the same year he was responsible for the Edition 46 of the Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

Since the video for Speechless 2009, he often works with Lady Gaga. In this year he also created one of Roman Polanski rotated with Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams pseudo - commercial for the alleged perfume "Greed". He gave the spot the MOCA.

2013 he was in the ZDF program Through the Night with ... in which two artists meet to see with Rufus Wainwright in Rome, they first attend the Vezzoli retrospective at the MAXXI museum, later, the Galleria Borghese. In the same year his project, a church in Italy from and in New York at the MoMA PS1 failed to rebuild because they are not allowed to leave the country.
