Speechless (Lady Gaga song)

Speechless is a song by American pop singer Lady Gaga, which was released on their second album The Fame Monster. Producer of the album was Ron Fair.

Background

Content of the lyrics of Lady Gaga's heart sick father and her feelings are towards him. Her father had been looking for a heart disease and no treatment for 15 years. While the singer was on tour, his condition deteriorated. The song is about phone conversations with him when he was drunk and she did not know what to say: " My dad used to call me after he'd had a few drinks and I would not know what to say. I was speechless and I just did Feared I would loose him and I would not be there. " This song was also a " Please been " to perform the operation.

The sound of Speechless is strongly influenced by glam rock artists like Queen and David Bowie, Gaga's model, influenced by what the song from the rest of her album The Fame Monster stands out, especially since it is also the only ballad on the album.

Criticism

Speechless got mixed reviews. Kitty Empire from the Observer of the song was not convinced and said that ballads are a " weak point " Lady Gaga.

Performance

Lady Gaga Speechless wore at the Grammy Awards 2010 along with Elton John in a medley of her hit Poker Face and Elton John's Your Song ago. Also at the American Music Awards, the song was performed. In this case an effect was used, which had apparently burst into flames its piano.
