The Singles (Lady-Gaga-Album)

The Singles is a 9- CD box set of U.S. pop singer Lady Gaga, who was released on 8 December 2010 only in Japan. The box contains nine separate CD singles with tracks from the albums The Fame and The Fame Monster, which were previously released as a single, supplemented by unpublished title Christmas Tree. In addition, The Singles receives remixes by artists such as Trevor Simpson and Space Cowboy. The edition was limited to 5000 copies.

Development

In a statement on November 17, 2010 Universal Music Japan announced that it will be a new album from Gaga. This should be released on December 8, 2010 in Japan and contained all their published as single songs. The box set was released only in Japan and was only available as an import goods outside of the Japanese market.

Cover

The cover was designed at a photo shoot with Hedi Slimane, who also created the cover of Telephone. It shows Lady Gaga bare back. She has a finger in the mouth and wearing a black leather cap. On the left side is vertical "Lady Gaga - The Singles ". On the back is the track list with white and black text on a gray background.

The Singles consists of nine CDs, each with two tracks ( except CD nine with four titles )

Chart positions

The Singles reached number 166 of the Japanese Oricon charts for a week. It is named after The Fame, The Fame Monster and The Remix, the fourth release of pop singer, which reached the Top 200 of the Japanese album charts.
