Francis Bay

Francis Bay (* December 27 1914 in Rijkevorsel, † 25 April, 2005 Bonheiden; actually Francis Bayetz ) was a Belgian conductor, composer and director.

Life

Francis Bay studied at the Conservatory in Mechelen. His career began in the 1930s with the orchestra Paul Godwin, it then worked at the Ramblers. In 1948 he founded his own orchestra. Bay was known primarily as head of entertainment Orchestra of the Belgian broadcaster BRT. In the 1960s and 1970s, he helped numerous Belgian participants at the Euro Vision Song Contest. Bay led his own big band, with the band he performed under the name Francis Bay & His Big. He produced many albums and provided compositions for gaming and entertainment programs for the BRT. In 1962 he directed the Bob Benny show for Belgian television.
