Francis Quinn

Francis Anthony Quinn ( born September 11, 1921 in Los Angeles ) is an American Catholic priest and Bishop Emeritus of Sacramento.

Life

Francis Anthony Quinn received on 15 June 1946, the ordination.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 24 April 1978 Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco and Titular Bishop of Numana. The Archbishop of San Francisco John Raphael Quinn gave him on 29 June of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Joseph Thomas McGucken, Archbishop Emeritus of San Francisco, and William Joseph McDonald, Emeritus Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 18 December 1979 as Bishop of Sacramento; he was introduced on February 18, 1980 to office. On 30 November 1993, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.
