Franciszek Ksawery Zachariasiewicz

Franciszek Ksawery Zachariasiewicz ( born December 1, 1770 in Stanisławów in Poland - Lithuania, † June 12, 1845 in Przemysl ) was Bishop of Tarnów and Bishop of Przemysl.

Life

He came from an Armenian family, attended the schools of his native city, studied theology and philosophy and was on August 8, 1795 in Lviv Archbishop Jakub Walerian Tumanowicz the Armenian archeparchy of Lviv ordained a priest. He received his doctorate in 1787 as a doctor of theology, and in 1800 associate professor at the Jagiellonian University as a full professor, he was not accepted in 1805, so he had to teach from 1806 to 1827 law. On November 15, 1812, he was incardinated with the approval of the Armenian Archbishop Jakub Jan Szymonowicz as a priest in the Archdiocese of Lviv in the Latin rite; 1826 Rector of the University Lvov, a member of the cathedral chapter and in 1835 curator of this body.

Emperor Ferdinand I of Austria appointed him on September 2, 1835 as Bishop of Tarnów. The confirmation by Pope Gregory XVI. on February 1, 1836., he was consecrated on 12 May in 1836 by the Archbishop of Lviv Franz de Paula Pistek. In the diocese of Tarnów, in the cathedral, it was installed on 12 May 1836. He continued the activities of his predecessor Bishop Pisztek. He was appointed by the emperor to the bishop of Przemysl and confirmed by the Pope on July 13, 1840 Already on 16 March 1840.

His epitaph in the cathedral of Przemysl was destroyed.
