Franciszek Pieczka

Franciszek Pieczka ( born January 18, 1928 in Godów, Upper Silesia, Poland) is a Polish actor. He is one of the most famous actors of the country.

Life

Pieczka first studied at the Politechnika Gliwice, he graduated in 1954, the Państwowa Wyższa SzkoĹ Teatralna in Warsaw. He made his debut in a theater in Jelenia Góra. Particularly well known made ​​him the role of Gustlik in the television series Czterej Pancerni i pies, in which he played from 1966 until 1971. In 1970 he moved to Warsaw, where he was engaged at the Common Theatre.

Pieczka twice won a prize from the Festiwal Polskich Filmów Fabularnych for the leading roles in the films The Scar ( 1976) and Jancio Wodnik (1993). In 1984 he received the Best Actor Award at the 3rd National film festival of the GDR for Roland Gräfs tragicomedy Fariaho.
