The scar is a feature film drama directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski from the year 1976. Two years later, the film also came to the East German cinemas. A little later he was shown on West German TV.

Action

Stefan Bednarz should guide as a party functionary to build a chemical plant in his hometown. However, the local population rejects the construction on parts, because the town would grow so an industrial center. This in a crisis of conscience resigned Bednarz and resigns from his job.

Awards

Franciszek Pieczka received the award for the best actor for his portrayal of Stefan Bednarz at the Polish Film Festival in 1976. Krzysztof Kieślowski was awarded an honorary prize for his film drama.
