François Cluzet

François Cluzet ( born September 21, 1955 in Paris) is a French actor.

Life

The son of a Paris newspaper dealer grew up in modest circumstances, his parents got divorced during his childhood. Inspired by Jacques Brel in Man of La Mancha, he started with 17 years of acting school in the Cours Simon. His career started in 1976 at the theater. Very soon, he worked with renowned directors such as Claude Chabrol French and Bertrand Tavernier, and later with Robert Altman.

Followed in 2006 his big break as Dr. Alexandre Beck in Tell No One, his second collaboration with Guillaume Canet realized in 2010 in the third film Small, White Lies, in which Cluzet was a stressed hotelier. In 2011, he starred as paralyzed millionaire in the globally successful film Intouchables Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano.

Cluzet has four children. A son, Paul, to the deceased daughter of Jean -Louis Trintignant, Marie Trintignant. A daughter named Blanche from another relationship and two children together, Joseph and Marguerite, from his thirteen years lasting cohabitation with Valérie Bonneton. The two played a married couple in 2010 in Little White Lies, after the shooting they parted. Since July 5, 2011 François Cluzet is married to a French woman of Moroccan descent.

Cluzet won the 1984 Jean Gabin the Prize, the 2007 César Award for Best Actor for his role in No One.
