François Leleux

François Leleux [ fʀɑswa ləlø ] (* July 1971 in Croix ) is a French oboist, conductor and professor.

Biography

Leleux began Oboespiel at the age of six years with Daniel Pieru at the Conservatory of Roubaix. The age of 14, he joined the Paris Conservatoire ( CNSMDP ), where he unanimously won the first prizes in the categories Oboespiel and chamber music in the classes of Pierre Pierlot and Maurice Bourgue.

François Leleux is the winner of numerous international competitions, including those of Munich, Prague, Trieste, Manchester and Toulon and winner of the Prix Européen Juventus.

Outside of his international career as a soloist takes Leleux also participating in the orchestral life. He was a member of the Orchestre National de France and in the European Community Youth Orchestra under the baton of Claudio Abbado. With 18 years was François Leleux first solo oboist of the Paris Opera Bastille. Four years later he became principal oboist in the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, currently he is a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. He is also a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe since 2003.

Leleux attaches great importance to chamber music, he is a member of the woodwind octet of the Paris Opera Bastille, which won just one month after its founding the first international prize of the city of Paris. As part of the ensemble Les Vents Français, he completed numerous international concert tours.

François Leleux is married to the violinist Lisa Batiashvili and has a daughter and a son.
