François M'Pelé

François M'Pelé ( born July 13, 1947 in Brazzaville ) is a former Congolese football player who has completed the bulk of his career in the French professional leagues. He is regarded as " the most successful football export of the country ."

Club career

Born in the former French colony of Middle Congo François M'Pelé played as an adolescent at CARA and subsequently used for the Inter Club, both clubs from his native town. In 1969, he came from the newly independent Congo in the meantime to France and played for AC Ajaccio Erstdivisionär. The Corsicans, the shock striker quickly developed under coach Alberto Muro team regular; his second season there closed Ajaccio surprising in sixth place in the standings from - it should remain the best placement during his eleven years in the Division 1. Personally, however, developed M'Pelé, which then also became a national player for his home country (see below), has become a top scorer in a class; 1971/72 he was ranked for the first time far ahead in the scoring charts of the first division (Rank 8 thanks to 17 hits ), in the following year presented the same number of gates even for sixth place, while the AC Ajaccio at the end of the season as last in was relegated to second division. Although he regularly met deeper a class (ten " stalls " in 17 games ), the club sold him in the winter of 1973/74 to the Premier League rivals Paris Saint- Germain.

National players

François has M'Pelé 1971-1978 at least nine official A- international matches for the national team of the Republic of Congo denied and it scored two goals.
