Francova Lhota

Francova Lhota ( German Franz shock) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 17 kilometers south-east of Vsetín on the border with Slovakia and belongs to Okres Vsetín.

Geography

Francova Lhota is located in the southwest of Javorníky in the Valley of Senice ( Senitza ). South-east of the village lies the Lissa Pass ( Lýsky průsmyk ). In the northwest, the Hradisko (773 m) rises rocks with the Pulčínské and east of the Čubův Kopec (720 m).

Neighboring towns are Pulčín and Valašská Senice in the north, Bechov, Jáma and posle in the northeast, Strelenka in the east, Střelná in the south, Horni Lideč in the southwest and Lidečko in the West.

History

The place was probably built between the 13th and 14th century in the course of application of villages along the Moravian- Hungarian border to their attachment. The town was first mentioned in 1499 as Lhota and was one of the many settlements that were released for a limited period after their foundation of obligations towards the authorities. Together with Senice, Pulčín and the later extinct village of Lhota Zubrůvka formed a small Beilehen the castle rule Brumov. In the first half of the 16th century the village was conducted partly under the different names Dzbelov, Lhoty, Petrovská Lhota, Markova Lhota, Petrovské Lhoty and Zbelovy Lhoty. After Adam had 1549 of Lomnitz on Brumov purchased the village of Tristan Francis of Haj, it was given the name Francova Lhota.

Until the 18th century the inhabitants suffered from incursions of the Turks, as were deported in the wake of border feuds between Moravian and Hungarian dominions inhabitants of Francova Lhota. The economic crisis meant that emigrated 1850-1914 330 inhabitants of the village to America.

The rock and cave landscape of rocks Pulčínské was placed under protection in 1966 and declared a National Nature Reserve in 1989 Pulčín - Hradisko. Since 1997 Francova Lhota leads a coat of arms.

The municipality consists of the villages Francova Lhota Francova Lhota (Franz shock) and Pulčín ( panel Schin ) and the settlements Bechov, Jáma and posle ( Poschla ).
