Halenkov

Halenkov ( German Hallenkau ) is a municipality in the Moravian Wallachia in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers east of Vsetín and belongs to Okres Vsetín.

Geography

Halenkov located at the western foot of the Javorník Mountains at the transition to the Wsetiner mountains in the Natural Park of PLA Beskydy. The village is located on the left side of the river Upper Bečva at the mouth of the creek Provazný creek and opposite the mouth of the Dinotice. To the north lie the Kladnatá ( 769 m) and Valoviska (616 m), in the northeast of Palúch ( 691 m) and Babinek ( 752 m ) east of the Válkův Grúň ( 667 m) and the Planinska Kyčera ( 767 m), the South East Kotlina (805 m), Kyčera nad Boroskou (808 m) and Horni Kobylářka ( 846 m ) south of the Čerňanská Kyčera ( 885 m) and Javorová (786 m) in the southwest of Hrachovec ( 777 m) and Lucký vrch (502 m ) and northwest of the Ochmelov ( 733 m). By Halenkov leads the railway line Vsetín - Velké Karlovice.

Neighboring towns are Hluboké, Kršelky, U Holců, Peciválka and Lušová in the north, Babinek, Brodské, Chromčací, Čubov and Nový Hrozenkov in the northeast, Břežitá and Malá Vranča in the east, Pauci, Provazné and Provazný the southeast, Horni Provazníček, Dolni Provazníček and U Měrečků in the south, Výpusty, U Špinků, Zbeličné and Bařiny the southwest, Tomanůvka, Bratřejůvka and U Hodolů in the west and Dinotice in the northwest.

The territory of the village stretches along the Vsetínská Bečva into the side valleys of the Břežitá, Lušová, Dinotice, the Hluboký creek and the creek Provazný. To the south it extends to the border with Slovakia.

History

After the coming of the Great Rye Island Hungarian nobleman Georg Illésházy 1652 had acquired the dominion Vsetín, he left in 1654 to create the named after his daughter Helenenhof above Hovězí in the Valley of Vsetínská Bečva. In the manor a Pasekarensiedlung that in 1657 called Helenovice arose. The settlers were Vlachs, who lived primarily from the breeding of sheep and goats. On the Helenenhof also the subjects of Zděchov, the newly founded Rozinkov and some of the residents of Údolí Huslenky had to serve their compulsory service. Helenovice was initially a Hovězí to settlement. 1663 the Turks have built in Halenkov their camp and abducted a large part of the population. In 1670 the village was called Alenkow or Alinkow. Since the 17th century there were two mills and sawmills in Halenkov. One of them was owned by the government. In the Valley of Břežitá was a glassworks in the hallway border Rozinkov. Furthermore, there was a potash factory. The Helenenhof had the right to brew beer for Slovak barley beer. 1728 the settlement was first called Halenkov. In the 19th century presented both mills and board saws and the glassworks operating. Until the mid- 19th century, the village remained subservient always Vsetín.

After the abolition of patrimonial Halenkow / Hallenkau formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Valašské Meziříčí. 1868 Michael Thonet built in Hallenkau a Bugholzfabrik in which was a large part of the inhabitants of employment. 1908, the local railway Wsetin wholesale Karlowitz was inaugurated. Since 1909, the village belonged to the district Vsetín. 1922, the factory Thonet 160 employees. In the 1930s, the congregation approved during the global economic crisis, the establishment of a fuel storage facility for the Army, which created local jobs. Since 2003, the municipality performs a coat of arms and received at the same time the right to use a banner. In the same year the State transferred the military property free of charge to the community.
