Frank Brownlee

Frank Brownlee ( born October 11, 1874 in Dallas, Texas, USA, † February 10, 1948 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life and work

Frank Brownlee was during his 1911-1943 lasting film career as an all-round actor who could play the dissolute gold mining to industrial captain everything. Most often he was seen in Western and action movies. During the silent film era, he often played people who were on the wrong side of the law. In the talkie era, he moved to a certain extent the sides and often acted like military and police officers, security forces or law enforcement.

His first major role was Brownlee 1921 in the silent film Whistle ( with lead actor William S. Hart). As a Career highlights Hal Erickson lists the films Romance Country (1923, directed by Edward Sedgwick ), The Social Highwayman (1926, directed by William Beaudine ) and Tombstone Canyon (1932, directed by Alan James ).
