Frank Mascara

Robert Frank Mascara ( born January 19, 1930 in Belle Vernon, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, † July 10, 2011 in Monongahela, Pennsylvania ) is an American politician (Democratic Party).

Life

Mascara was born in January 1930, the son of Italian immigrants. He attended the Belle Vernon High School. From 1946 to 1947 he served in the United States Army. He then studied at the California University of Pennsylvania in California, Pennsylvania and received in 1972 a Bachelor of Arts (BA).

From 1974-1980 mascara was controller of Washington County and served in the port from 1980 to 1994 as chairman of the board of commissioners of the county.

In 1994 he was elected as a Democrat to Congress and represented there, from 3 January 1995 to 3 January 2003, the state of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives. As a parliamentarian, he was a member of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and later the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. In 2002, he tried unsuccessfully asked to be placed as a candidate for the election of the 108th Congress.

Mascara was married twice. He had a son and a daughter from his first marriage, and two sons from his second marriage. He died on 10 July 2011 at the age of 81 years in the Monongahela Valley Hospital from lung cancer.
