Frank Morriss

Frank E. Morris ( born September 15, 1927 in Texas; † July 3, 2013 in Northridge, California ) was an American editor.

Life and career

Frank Morriss graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1946 and began after two semesters at the University of Oregon studying at Santa Monica College.

Morris ' work as a freelance editor began in 1966 with the cut of the TV series Laredo and ran for several years until the end of the 70s, including he was also responsible for the cut of Steven Spielberg's duel. With his first trip to the cinema business in 1973 with the great coup, he received his first major film award nominations, namely the BAFTA Award nomination. From the early 80s to the late 90s to Morris's focused entirely on the cinema business and be applied only in recent years back to the television. During his movies, he worked successfully for years as a master cutter by John Badham and cut for him films like A bird on a wire, Codename: Nina and The Flying Eye, for in 1984 he received his first Oscar nomination for Best Editing. He received his second Oscar nomination and so far last the following year for Robert Zemeckis Romancing the Stone.
