Frank Riseley

Frank Lorymer Riseley ( born July 6, 1877 in Bristol, † February 6, 1959 in Torquay, England ) was an English tennis player.

Riseley took from 1892 to tennis tournaments. His biggest success was winning the doubles of the Wimbledon Championships in 1902 and 1906 on the side of Sydney Howard Smith. The two beat the brothers Lawrence and Reginald Doherty, who were at the turn of the century as the best players in double and also in singles. In 1906, he also reached the Challenge Round at Wimbledon, but lost it against Lawrence Doherty. He also won the 1902 Scottish Championships, and the 1906 Irish Championships. In 1904 he played for Great Britain in the Davis Cup. After he had from 1907 largely retired from the sport of tennis, he played in 1919, after the First World War, again at the tournament in Wimbledon, but was defeated Royden Dash already in the second round. In 1922 he took part in the last Davis Cup.
