Frank Shannon

Frank Connolly Shannon ( born July 27, 1874 in Ireland, † February 1, 1959 in Hollywood, California ) was an American actor.

Life

From 1909 to 1934 Shannon performed regularly on Broadway, including in the plays Anna Christie, Elmer Gentry and Young Sinners. Shannon made ​​his film debut in 1912. Yet he attracted attention in 1924 in Monsieur Beaucair on the side of Rudolph Valentino and Bebe Daniels. His breakthrough came in 1936 as Dr. Alexis Zarkov in the multi-part sci-fi series Flash Gordon. 1938 Shannon played the Dr. Zarkov in the sequel Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars Flash Gordon Conquers and 1940 in the Universe.
