František Chvostek

Franz Chvostek senior ( born May 21, 1835 in Mistek, Moravia, † November 16, 1884 in Vienna ) was an Austrian internist. His son was the internist Franz Chvostek junior.

Chvostek studied at the Viennese Josephinum, where he was Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, since 1871 professor. He described the eponymous Chvostek sign.
