František Šafránek

František Šafránek ( born January 2, 1931 in Prague, † 27 June 1987) was a Czechoslovakian football player. He was regarded as a hard, fast right-back.

Career

František Šafránek began playing football at at SS Vršovice, 1949, he moved to Sparta Prague. 1952, the midfielder from ATK Prague ( 1956 Dukla ) was obliged, for whom he played until 1965. With Dukla Šafránek was seven times Czechoslovak champion and twice Cup winners. He played 238 first division matches in which he scored 28 hits.

From 1966 to 1970 he played for BS Vlašim. Between 1970 and 1974 he was a coach at Dukla Slany. Then he returned at RH Strašnice again on the field of play back and finished his career in 1976 final. From 1980 to 1983 he worked as a youth coach at his former club Dukla Prague.

Between 1951 and 1961 he played 22 times for the Czechoslovakian national team and scored a goal here. He participated in the 1954 World Cup and the European Championship in 1960.
