Franz Cisar

Franz Cisar ( born November 28, 1908) was an Austrian football player. Earlier in his career he played at the position of a runner and was a successful goal scorer, but he later played mostly adopted as a national player participates among others in the world championship in 1934 as defender Franz Cisar, but was followed by a disappointing 4th place not more of Hugo Meisl drafted into the team.

Career

Franz Cisar began his career in favorites at Hertha in the second division. With 103 goals in 24 games and just one defeat, however, he rose with the blue-white in 1927 to the first division. There he finished in sixth place in his first Erstligasaison with Hertha and was top scorer with 16 of his club. So Franz Cisar soon moved from the small Viennese suburbs club Hertha in the spring of 1929 briefly to Austria and then to Vienna AC. With the Athletikern he could win the Cup in 1931, which was held this season on points. This entitled the WAC in participating in the Mitropa Cup, the forerunner of the European Cup, where they sensationally reached the final. Franz Cisar contributed a goal in the playoff semifinal against Sparta Prague. However, in purely Austrian - final, he defeated the champion with his club Vienna. In the next season Franz Cisar also reached with seienem club the cup final, but lost the Admira 1:6. In the championship, but Cisar could never play along with the WAC for the title, and finally left the club in 1935 in the direction of countries. First, he played for one season at the Moravian Slavia Brno, before moving to France for FC Metz. In 1937 he returned again back to Czechoslovakia and played with SK Prostějov.

His debut in the national team gave Franz Cisar on October 1, 1933 in a 2-2 draw against the " arch-rival " Hungary. After some convincing performances in the team, he was nominated by Hugo Meisl as a defender with his club colleague Karl Sesta for the football World Cup in Italy in 1934, retired in Austria after a dubious refereeing in the semi-final against the hosts. The World Cup was also Franz Cisars last appearance for the Austrian national team.
