Franz Liszt Academy of Music
The Franz Liszt Academy of Music (Hungarian: Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music Egyetem ) is an Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. With approximately 900 students, it is the largest music school in Hungary.

History
The Academy of Music was by pianist and composer Franz Liszt ( Liszt Ferenc ) founded on 14 November 1875 as the Royal Hungarian Academy of Music. In 1925 she was given its present name. From 1928 to 1944, the highly respected composer and conductor Ernst von Dohnányi was director of the university, which is still regarded as one of the world 's most prestigious training centers for young musicians. The professors included, among other things, Béla Bartók (piano) and Zoltán Kodály (composition).

Main building
The Art Nouveau hall of the Academy in the new building from 1907 ( architect Kálmán Giergl and Floris piston ) is considered one of the greatest examples of this style in Budapest. The building is costly renovation.

Many graduates of the school were later known musicians in their field, such as the singer Sylvia Geszty, Zoltán Kelemen, Magda Nador, tenor József Réti, the pianist Géza Anda, Andor Foldes, András Schiff, Zoltán Kocsis, Andor Losonczy, the violinist Johanna Martzy, Joseph Szigeti, Ernő Sebestyen, Sarah Spitzer, Tibor Varga, Ferenc Fricsay the conductors, Georg Solti, Eugene Ormandy, Zsolt Hamar and the composer Zoltán Gárdonyi, Béla Bartók, Sándor Veress, György Kurtág, István Nagy, Lajos Bárdos, Paul Abraham and Peter Eötvös and the musicians of the Kodály Quartet.
