Franz Magnis-Suseno

Franz Magni - Suseno, SJ (* as Franz Graf von Magni, May 26, 1936 in Ecker village, now Bożków in Poland; county Glatz ) is a Catholic theologian and social philosopher in Indonesia.

Life

Franz Magni - Suseno comes from the noble family of Magni. His parents were Ferdinand of Magni on Ecker village and Strassnitz (1905-1996) and Princess Maria Anna of Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg ( 1914-2000 ). His grandfather was Anton Franz von Magni After the expulsion of the family in 1945 to West Germany put Franz Magni - Suseno 1955, graduating from the College of St. Blaise from. He then joined the Jesuit order. He then studied philosophy and went with permission of Major Superiors at his own request as a missionary to Indonesia. In 1973 he earned his doctorate at the University of Munich with the topic Normative Requirements in the thinking of the young Marx. In Indonesia, he lectured at the Philosophical Institute of Jakarta, the rector of which he was, and at the University of Indonesia.
