Frederick, Hereditary Prince of Baden-Durlach

Frederick, Hereditary Prince of Baden-Durlach ( born October 7, 1703 † March 26, 1732 ) died before his father and therefore never came to the throne in Durlach. He was the father of the late Grand Duke Karl Friedrich.

Life

Frederick was the second son of Margrave Karl III. Wilhelm of Baden- Durlach and the Magdalena Wilhelmine of Württemberg ( * November 7, 1677, † October 30, 1742 ), daughter of Duke Wilhelm Ludwig of Württemberg. After the early death of his older brother Karl Magnus (1701-1712) he was crown prince. His father took care of a good education and sent him to travel extensively to France, Holland and England. 1724 he was appointed colonel of the Swabian Circle troops and 1728 for General sergeant. During a trip to Holland in 1729 of his father Frederick took over his representation. Frederick had a weak constitution and died of a " severe chest disease" - probably pulmonary tuberculosis.

Marriage and issue

Friedrich married on July 3, 1727 Anna Charlotte Amalie of Nassau- Dietz - Orange ( born October 13, 1710September 17, 1777 ), the daughter of Prince William Friso of Nassau- Dietz - Orange. From this marriage the following children were born:
