Frederick of Hohenau

Count Bernhard Wilhelm Albrecht Friedrich von Hohenau ( born May 21, 1857 Albrecht Castle Mountain in Dresden, † April 15, 1914 in Ochelhermsdorf, at Green Mountain ) was a German nobleman.

Life

Frederick was a son of Prince Albrecht of Prussia (1809-1872), a brother of Emperor William I and King Frederick William IV of Prussia, from his second morganatic marriage with Rosalie (1820-1879), daughter of the Prussian War Minister Gustav von Rauch. Because of the socially unacceptable marriage the father of Frederick did not count as a member of the House of Hohenzollern.

Friedrich was after the death of his mother, together with his older brother William, heir to the castle Albrecht mountain near Dresden, which he occupied until his death. Together with the brother of the Prince of Eulenburg, Friedrich Botho, 1901 he has to leave the Prussian army service because of his homosexual inclinations.

Friedrich, also known as Fritz, was involved in the two biggest scandals of the German Empire under Wilhelm II He belonged to the " Liebenberg Round Table " and starred alongside his wife in the so -called " vomit affair" a role.

Friedrich married on June 21, 1881 in Charlotte Berbisdorf from the ceiling ( 1863-1933 ), with whom he had the following children:
