Frederick VI, Count of Zollern

Friedrich VI. of Zollern († May 4, 1298 ), called " the knight " or " the Elder ", was a Count of Zollern.

Life

Frederick was the son of Count Frederick V of Zollern from his marriage to Udilhild of Dillingen.

He succeeded his father as Count of Zollern to 1288. In the year of his succession he shared ownership with his younger brother Frederick I the young. Thus parted at the end of the 13th century by Frederick I reasoned Schalk Burger and foremost on the main stem. Friedrich received while the Hohenzollern castle and the surrounding areas, while his brother Frederick I the dominions Schalksburg and Mülheim obeyed.
