Frederick William II of Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- Beck ( * June 18, 1687 in Potsdam, † November 11, 1749 in Königsberg ), Duke of Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg -Beck, Prussian general field marshal and Governor of Berlin.

He was the eldest son of Friedrich Ludwig ( Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- Beck) ( 1653-1728 ) and his wife Louise Charlotte of Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- August Castle ( 1658-1740 ).

Succeeded as duke by his son Frederick, who fell already in 1757. His brother Karl Ludwig ( Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- Beck) inherited the title.

Life

Friedrich Wilhelm studied in Halle ( Saale), and went in 1704, lieutenant-colonel in the Prussian army in 1713, he became colonel.
