Frederik Willems

Frederik Willems ( born September 8, 1979 in Eeklo ) is a Belgian racing cyclist.

Career

In his junior years Willems won the race in 2001 Seraing - Aken - Seraing and it was Stagiair with Mapei -Quick Step, which participated in the 2002 contract. His only success was a victory in the rather second-rate Cuban tour. He changed after only one year to the GSII team Vlaanderen- T -Interim.

In 2005 he then joined Jacques chocolate. At the start of the 2006 season he won the first stage of the Etoile de Bessèges and took the lead of the overall standings, which he could defend to the end. Since 2007, Willems riding for the Italian Liquigas team. In 2008 he won the Three Days of De Panne for themselves.
