The Freewinds is a cruise ship that was built in 1968 on the Finnish Wärtsilä shipyard under the hull number 1161 as a bohemian.

History

The ship was first Commodore Cruise Ltd.. used for cruises in the Caribbean between Miami and Saint Thomas. In 1981 it was sold to the Hanseatic Caribbean Shipping Co. Inc.. 1982 and 1983 it was used in charter of the Brazilian company Saitecin Cruises for cruises along the South American coast to Cape Horn, and for Caribbean cruises.

The end of 1984 SeaEscape chartered the ship and set it for day trips between Miami and Freeport one, from the beginning in 1985 for travel between Saint Petersburg and Tampa. In September 1985, the San Donato Properties Corporation purchased the ship and renamed it Freewinds. The shipping company used it a multi-day Caribbean cruises. The Scientology Organization uses the ship since 1988 as a training center.

The ship was repeatedly rebuilt and modernized (1970, 1983 and 2009).
