Friedel Grützmacher

Elfriede Galama ( " Friedel " ) Griitzmacher ( born August 3, 1942 in Leer ( Ostfriesland) ) is a German politician of the Alliance 90/The Greens.

Education and work

After a teaching degree in the subjects German and Sport from 1965 she worked as a teacher, among other things, in Wörth am Rhein ( Rhineland -Palatinate).

Political activity

In the 80s she became a member of the Greens. In 1991 she was elected to the Landtag of Rhineland- Palatinate. 1993-96 she was Group President, 1996-2001 Group vice-president. 2001-2006 she was Vice- President of Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag. She was a member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Interior Committee and the prison commission. By 1996, she was responsible for education policies in the green fraction. Griitzmacher did not start in the regional elections on 26 March 2006 and moved in the following months to Berlin. It is now chairman of the German Friends of the Jewish-Arab Center for Peace, Givat Haviva.
