Friedrich Gustav Schlick

Friedrich Gustav Schlick (* 1804 in Leipzig, † September 6, 1869 in Loschwitz in Dresden ) was a German portrait and genre painter, illustrator and lithographer.

Life

Schlick was a student at the Leipzig Academy Julius Schnorr von Carol Field and continued his education in Berlin and Paris. In four images that have been engraved for the Saxon Art Association in 1834 by Adolf Hohneck, he illustrated the story of Gretchen in Goethe's Faust I. In addition to illustrations of him known portraits and genre scenes.
