Friedrich Max Kircheisen

Friedrich Max Kirch iron ( born June 23, 1877 in Chemnitz, † February 12, 1933 ) was a German historian.

Friedrich Max Kirch iron studied history and international law at the universities of Leipzig and Paris. He devoted himself mainly as a private scholar researching the history of Napoleon and his time. At the beginning of his research he planned to create a bibliography of the Napoleonic era, for which he had collected some 30,000 works and essays. 1908 appeared the first volume of his collection. Kircheisen estimated the number of publications to bibliography leaders to 200,000 titles. In his preface to Volume 1, he wrote:

In the second volume, which appeared in 1912, Kirch iron published only the first half. Then he dropped the attempt.

His main work represents his biography of Napoleon ( " Napoleon I. His life and his time" ), which was published in nine volumes from 1911 to 1934.

Kirch iron was married to Gertrude Aretz, born Kuntze Dolton. From the estate of the widow sold part of the library at the University of Vienna. This part is located in the Mountain Dance Collection. Another part of the library (about 1500 to 2000 volumes reached in the Central Library of the so-called High School of the NSDAP.

His final resting he found on the Berlin cemetery Hermsdorf II in the Dept. 10, R. 2
