Friedrich Strack

Friedrich Strack, Chr Friedrich Leberecht Strack ( born May 9, 1781 Monastery Roßleben; † July 25, 1852 in Bremen ) was a German pedagogue, a professor in Bremen and Protestant hymn writer.

Biography

Strack visited the convent school Roßleben, studied theology and philosophy at the University of Leipzig and was Master and Dr. phil. doctorate. He initially worked as a preacher. He continued his educational training in Halle ( Saale). Since 1806 he was a teacher in Hall worked since 1810 in Wertheim am Main and 1814 at the Gymnasium in Dusseldorf.

1817 became the head of the preschool EschenhofPeaceful to Domsheide in Bremen, a division of the newly established secondary school in Bremen called. He has written several educational journals and brought out two poetry tapes. Later Bremen appointed him professor. He was greatly interested in scientific topics. Even as a translator of the writings of Aristotle and Pliny the Younger he worked. 1818 he had set up a gymnasium for the students. A stone drawing by him of R.F.C. Suhrlandt was 1823.

Specific dissemination found a collection of spiritual poems he entitled: Eloah. Surveys of the heart to God, published in a series of chants and prayers metric; they first appeared in 1814 ( Frankfurt am Main at Bronner ) and then in six subsequent editions.
