The lyrics of the song is about the importance of friendships, and in what situations they are most needed, as well as the fact that good friends keep each other when the other person has no luck in love.

In the music video, which was released March 13, 2012 Aura Dione is to see how she is staying in a big house, where they inter- react with robots, which are supposed to represent their friends.

Friends reached in the singles charts of the German-speaking countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the rankings 4, 3 and 10 in Dione's native Denmark the title position 6 reached in the singles charts. In the Bulgarian and Polish singles chart, the song reached the top position.
