Fritch is a city in Hutchinson County and Moore County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located at the Texas State Route 136 in the southwest of Hutchinson County, dates back to the Moore County and has a total area of 3.1 km ² without significant water surface.

History

Was named the place after HC Fritch from Chicago, a Vice-President of the Chicago, rock Iceland and Pacific Railroad.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 2,235 people in 886 households and 679 families. The population density was 713.2 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 95.53 % White, 0.09 % African American, 1.66 % Native American, 0.13 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 1.30 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 1.30% were Mixed Race and 4.30 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 886 households 34.7 % had children under the age of 18 living with them. 66.3 % were married couples living together. 8.1% were single mothers and 23.3 % were non-families. 21.6 % of all households were single-person households, and 11.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
